The invisible film





Publication of the final dissertation written at ENSAD under the supervision of Mr Henri Foucault
                                       
I imagined these texts as a film, a film of love, made up of encounters, images and memories. Memories of films that have disappeared or been reconstructed. Films have helped me to build myself. As a teenager, discovering the cinema and all its possibilities allowed me to wander between the deserts of Antonioni, the cities of Joris Ivens and the conversations of Rohmer's characters. Little by little, the films I saw began to mirror my life. A conversation in a café took on the appearance of a dialogue between Bernard Verley and Zouzou in L’amour l’après midi; the paintings I studied in art history class took me further and further back to Len Lye's films. Mentally, I began to reconstruct the films, recomposing them using everyday elements. These new imaginary editing suites opened up infinite combinations of memories of images and moments. First there's the cinema. The light, then nightfall, darkness and the unknown: the distortion begins.
